Filthy Gods By R. Scarlett

Title: Filthy Gods(American Gods, 0.5)

Author: R. Scarlett

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: May 14, 2018

Prelude in the American Gods series.

Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them.

And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them.

As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers.

The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other.

Deadly opponents, deadlier minds.

I’d sworn I’d never give him the upper hand, until…

The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years?

He just discovered it…and now he has all the power.

Mary’s 5 Star Review

I wasn’t prepared to fall in love with this book so quickly, but I did from the very first page. I adore R. Scarlett’s writing, and although Filthy Gods was a novella, it felt like any other one of her books. It didn’t feel rushed, or final, it just was a great story to dive into. It gave me just what I needed from it, and left me wanting more.

Meet Juliette, Law student, hard worker, with her whole life in front of her. She keeps a huge secret from everyone around her. She isn’t rich, or entitled. She has to work to make ends meet, just so she can follow her dreams. As she begins working a Summer job at a prestigious country club, she learns that her classmate/competitor from Yale is none other then the owners son, Nathaniel Radcliffe. He knows she’s not who she claims to be, and offers her a deal to keep silent. Juliette knows he could ruin her, but decides that maybe if she gives in to him, the attraction they have for one another could be worked out of their system. A summer fling with an expiration date, what is the worse thing that could happen? So it begins, something that neither of them were prepared for.

Nathaniel is part of an elite group of rich, powerful, and untouchables at Yale. Each unique in their own way, but also fiercely protective of one another. Juliette learns that things with Nathaniel aren’t exactly clean cut, and there is so much she never knew until she decided to open herself to him.

The passion they share is years of wanting, both keeping a watchful eye on the other from a far. It explodes into one heck of an amazing connection. The way it’s written will have you melting into the pages. If you love a good romance this enemies to lovers story is a must read. I can’t wait to continue this series!

Scarlett lives in a small quaint town in Southern Ontario, Canada and has an unhealthy obsession with mythology and romance.

From studying English literature and minoring in History, she loves losing herself in a good book and snuggling up to her Brittany Spaniel.

When she’s not writing or plotting a delicious novel, she can be found hanging out with friends and family, going on long car rides, exploring small towns, or watching reruns of Sex and the City.
