Staying In Vegas by Sam Mariano

Title: Staying in Vegas

Series: Vegas Morelli Trilogy #1

Author: Sam Mariano

Genre: Mafia Romance

Release Date: April 4, 2018

Synopsis

When I met Rafe Morelli, he didn’t look like the biggest mistake I’d ever make; he seemed closer to the crime family version of Prince Charming. Charismatic, beautiful, and attentive—with an intoxicating air of power—Rafe was the stuff of my darkest fantasies.

What we had should have been a simple fling, no-strings-attached. My hot weekend with the sexy, dominant Vegas boss—a harmless memory to replay once I returned to my quiet, predictable life.

One tiny hitch in that plan: a panty-melting memory isn’t all he left behind. Now the stakes have changed, and I’m faced with a potentially life-altering decision. Do I stay away and enjoy my status as the only woman in known history who has played in the Morelli flames without getting burned, or do I risk everything and step back into the fire?

Mary’s 5 Star Review

Wow! This book was so good!!! I can’t even catch my breath after reading. I want more! Those were my exact feelings after reading Staying In Vegas. I am a huge, and I mean humongous fan of mafia romance, and let’s get real the dirtier, and meaner the better. This isn’t the first book I’ve read from Sam, but the second. I read the first book in the Morrelli series, but never continued it, and although this new series can be read as a standalone, I actually appreciated the first book even more. I plan on reading the rest of those books sooner rather then later. This book had me glued to its pages, it was so fun, and gritty that I didn’t want it to end. I have definitely added this one to my top reads of the year.

Laurel meets Rafe, and during her spring break from college has an amazing tryst with him. She knows he’s dangerous, and from a world she doesn’t belong in, but he’s hot as sin, and makes her insides melt. She doesn’t find the harm in the no strings attached kind of fun, until she takes a test that shows two pink lines. She decides to do the right thing and let him know, but Rafe isn’t very pleased with her when she arrives at his doorstep. He doesn’t believe her, and sends her back home with his enforcer. Unfortunately, his trusted right hand man has other plans, and kinds her. His plan not so simple, and Laurel is trapped in a dangerous web with these two men.

So Laurel sort of is a great heroine, she’s smart, and sweet, and doesn’t put up with a lot. I was pretty sad for her in many parts of the book. While reading you only get two points a view, so I figured that things may not go as I particularly would of liked. I knew that it most likely wouldn’t be an easy read, but it was the perfect uneasy read. I fell in love with all three characters, the good, bad, and ugly. Now if you were hoping for a lot more from Rafe you will not be disappointed. He’s everything the top dog should be. As for the other guy he’s just as conniving if not more.

If you love mafia, the twisted kind, as well as the difficult kind then this one should not be missed. If you are in the middle of reading a book, stop to start this one. It should immediately be devoured. You will want more from the Vegas Morrellis’s immediately.
