I wasn’t looking for Derek Wolfe.

I wasn’t looking for anybody. All I wanted was to start a new life in America. But when I found myself stranded here with no place to go, he came to my rescue, offering me a place to stay.

He’s smart, successful, and sexy as hell—I can barely sleep knowing he’s right down the hall. And when the chemistry between us explodes one night with fierce, fiery passion, it’s hard to deny there’s something real between us.

But he does.

He says he was drunk. He says it was a one-time thing. He says he’s not into guys and what we did meant nothing.

He’s lying. Because it happened again, and again, and again. And it’s better every time.

I know we could be good together, and I want the chance to try, but I’m done hiding. If he’s not strong enough to admit the truth, I’ll have to be strong enough to walk away.

Meagan’s 4 Star Review

I’ve always been a fan of Melanie Harlow’s writing. She writes fluff that will put butterflies in your stomach as well as just the right amount of spice. I was so excited when she announced she had written an m/m. Even better? Her co-author is David Romanov who is the cover model for her book Man Candy! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and see how their writing styles meshed.

Maxim left Russia and moved to the United States to start a new life, but bad luck (horrendously bad luck) has him homeless in less than two hours of stepping foot in L.A. Through the total kindness of strangers he ends up in Derek’s guestroom for the night, trying not to notice how hot his host looks, and most definitely not imagining what it would be like to kiss him. Derek was brought up in a strict household. He may have feelings and urges about men, but he knows it’s wrong to act on them. However having Max so close is making him second guess himself.

This story was fantastic. Max and Derek’s relationship was so beautifully written. It was hard to watch Derek fight his feelings and hear the way he had been brought up. Max was such a pure soul. He was the light to Derek’s dark. You knew almost immediately that they’d be good together. As Max guided Derek through his conflicted feelings I just wanted to hug them. Seriously, if you’re looking for a book that makes you feel this is it. So. Many. Feels.

I haven’t read a good m/m in a while and this story was perfect – it’s definite must read if you love m/m. If you’ve never tried this genre I highly suggest Strong Enough. It’s an emotional book with characters you will fall in love with. I hope this writing duo continues to write m/m because they’re amazing. Make sure you take a look at the Q&A at the end of the book to learn more about how Harlow and Romanov met and how they worked together. It’s so cute!

Melanie Harlow writes sexy, emotional romance about strong, stubborn characters who can’t help falling in love. She’s addicted to bacon, gin martinis, and summer reading on the screened-in porch. If she’s not buried in a book or binging on Netflix, you might find her running, putting a bun in someone’s hair, or driving to and from the dance studio. She lives outside Detroit with her husband and two daughters.

Melanie is the USA Today bestselling author of the HAPPY CRAZY LOVE series, the FRENCHED series, MAN CANDY, AFTER WE FALL, IF YOU WERE MINE, and the sexy historical SPEAK EASY duet, set in the 1920s.

For David Romanov, STRONG ENOUGH is to a great extent autobiographical. Born in Russia and raised in Europe, he landed in the United States at the age of 24, where he learned a lot about cultural differences between East and West. David firmly believes in ‘The One’ and learning through love. When he isn’t traveling or educating Melanie in Russian culture, he enjoys books and the company of his husband and dog in Los Angeles.
