Mary’s 5 Star Review

Who knew a book could knock me off my feet? Not only did this happen to me while reading Body Of The Crime by R. Scarlett, but I was left a little breathless. I was on the edge the entire duration of this book just wanting to delve deeper into Tensley and Molly’s coupling. It had me guessing the whole time, and if you like being led on a super adventure, then you must run and pick up this series now. It’s everything that great, and unforgettable books are made of.

This is the second book in the Blackest Gold series, and you must read the books in order. The story revolves around Tensley, a brooding demon, and Molly a beautiful daemon. Molly didn’t even know that she was supernatural until Tensley showed up to claim her as his fiance. An agreement was made years ago promising her to him. So, Molly wasn’t to keen on the idea, and Tensley wasn’t either he pretty much does his best to be this heartless demon whom his parents raised him to be. In the first book without spoiling too much Tensley and Molly learned a lot about one another, one being that trust needed to be the cornerstone of their relationship if they were going to survive in their world. The second book continues with them getting closer, and discovering that they are happier together then a part. We delve into the darkness of their lives, and discover that in order to survive they must become more with each other. Which is difficult for the both of them, since they have been fighting this fate since the beginning. The forces that be will do everything to make sure this doesn’t happen. It is a constant edge of your seat story. I couldn’t read fast enough.

R. Scarlett did a wonderful job with this book. She unraveled the story in a perfect series of events. I was shocked in some areas, and I loved to hate some characters, while I fell head over heels more in love with others, The background to the story bundled together with the plot was a phenomenal experience.

It’s rare to find a series that keeps you wanting more. No doubt this series is on its way to pure greatness, and I can’t wait to see what the author has up her sleeve for the third book. In the meantime, if you haven’t started the series, I highly recommend you do that as soon as possible. You can thank me later.
