Sinfully Mine by Kendall Ryan

Title: Sinfully Mine (Lessons With the Dom #2)

Author: Kendall Ryan

Date of Publication: July 14, 2015

She was forbidden.

I didn’t care.

As my best friend’s little sister, Macey Hale was off-limits, but the girl was tempting as sin and forbidden as fuck. I wish I could say that stopped me. I wish I could tell you I behaved like a gentleman.

I didn’t.

When she waltzes back into my life with that same spark I fell for, looking every bit the beautiful woman I knew she’d grow into, I have to force myself to remember I’m different from the man she once knew. I’m colder. Harder. And for good reason.
With my heart on lockdown and my hands aching to touch her, I set out to prove that I can keep myself in check this time.

No strings. No attachments.

And definitely no falling for her again.

Christina’s Four Star Review

Sinfully Mine picks up right up where The Gentleman Mentor leaves off, with Macey, Hale’s little sister, at the door of Reece’s BDSM club, Crave. She’s fleeing a failed relationship and a lost job and doesn’t have anyone else to turn to, except for the one that got away, Reece.

Reece is a successful club owner and best friend to Cameron Hale (aka Hale). Growing up together, Reece was also close to Macey, however unbeknownst to Hale, he and Macey had been seeing each other and stopped just short of having sex. When Macey left to go to college, Reece ended things abruptly, however neither of them got over their feelings toward each other. When Macey shows up six years later, the spark is ignited once again, however the greatest obstacle to a relationship between them remains the same…Hale himself.

Reece promised Hale he wouldn’t get involved with his sister, but as expected, there is no denying the attraction they still share. The two must work through their pasts and figure out a way to make Hale understand that the feelings they have for each other run far deeper and longer than he expects. What results is a sizzling, entertaining story of second chance love.

The story is a bit predictable, and like the last book, there isn’t really much of an actual BDSM vibe, but I did really enjoy Reece and Macey’s story. Neither of the characters were particularly believable in their D/s roles (though Macey wasn’t necessarily looking for that role, Reece however is the owner of a BDSM club, you’d expect him to be a better Dom). I also had some issues with the feelings between the main characters as well, notably the reasons why they ended the relationship the first time and the way they each came away feeling about the situation. (Let’s just say the situation was far more overblown than it should have been, had they actually communicated.) I’m a sucker for second chances and this one hit the spot.

While this is the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone, however I would suggest reading The Gentleman Mentor first, as it really helps to establish the relationships between the characters that make an appearance in this book. If you’re looking for a quick, sexy, second chance love story, give this one a chance.
