Synopsis

To Chuito the apartment was a self-imposed prison for a lifetime of sins. To Alaine, the girl next door, it was salvation from her overbearing, religious father.

He was a devil.
She was an angel.

Two people who should’ve never met, let alone become friends, but it’s not until they give into the dangerous passion that’s been simmering under the surface for five years that things go to hell.

On the outside, Chuito ‘The Slayer’ Garcia is on top of the world. He’s successful. He’s wealthy. He’s a champion MMA fighter surrounded by friends who support him, but they don’t know what he was before he came to Garnet.

A gangster.
A thief.
An addict.
A murderer.

Now his past is churning up demons he can’t ignore. Chuito knows he needs to go back to Miami to end it, but there’s something holding him back, a single temptation he can’t resist before leaving.

Alaine.

She’s the one drug he can’t give up…even if it destroys them both.

“To me you’re coke. Fine. Smooth. Perfectly white. Very bad for me, but so fucking sexy I don’t give a shit. It’s worth going down for.”

Meagan’s 4.5 Star Review

This book was not what I was expecting in the best way possible. For some reason I saw Chuito as an older grumpy MMA fighter living next to a frumpy, yet cute, law clerk. Maybe I’m not sure if I was remembering the characters wrong or I just created an inaccurate picture in my head, either way the Chuito and Alaine the author introduced me to in Slayer were nothing like I expected.

He didn’t just get drunk on her.

He got totally fucking high off her.

Blitzed out of his mind as he moved down her body, sucking and biting because she marked so nicely, and he was one of those pendejos who liked seeing it.

The beginning of the book starts out with some hot between the sheets action. I wasn’t prepared for anything to happen so early in the story, especially since Alaine and Chuito were so adamant nothing was happening in the previous novel, Viper. In fact, I was a little turned off. I wanted more of a story then just immediate non-stop sex. But then the author does something unexpected and takes us back to their beginning. We go back five years to when Chuito and Alaine meet, watching their relationship grow as we watch them reach milestones in their lives – Chuito winning his first belt, Alaine graduating from college – and in every special moment they always turn to each other. Whether they want to admit it or not, Chuito and Alaine have slowly fallen in love.

“Love me. Don’t be in love with me,” he warned her. “You wouldn’t want to be in love with me.”

When the story caught up to present day I was falling so hard for Chuito I could hardly stand it. I actually had to go back to the beginning and read the first scene all over again. The passion and heat made so much more sense now that I knew their back-story. But the past was nothing compared to what Chuito and Alaine had to deal with in the future. Gang wars, mafia involvement, Russians, MMA fighters, and one angry lawyer make for non-stop action in the second part of the book. Just when you think one problem is solved two more pop up.

I’m your friend. I’ll be your friend until I die, but I am not going to give you a happily ever after. You are wasting the best years of your life waiting for something that isn’t going to happen.

I loved that we still got to see my favorite characters from the Untamed Hearts series. I really liked getting to see Wyatt, Jules, and Clay from Chuito and Alaine’s point of view. But what I was really excited to see was Tino and Nova’s part in the story. I’m ashamed to say I always thought Tino wasn’t the brightest blub in Cosa Nostra, turns out I was so, so wrong. I’m reserving the right to change my mind, but I’m thinking Tino’s story might be my favorite yet. And Nova, wow. He doesn’t let his guard down completely, but the little bits of him we do see are fascinating. Nova’s story is going to blow me away and I can’t wait.

She wanted to feel him in her.

Fucking her.

Claiming her.

Fusing the two of them together until it seared their souls to the point that nothing could pull them apart.

I had so much fun reading this book. From the slow, sweet build up of Chuito and Alaine’s relationship to the fast paced action of the mafia in Miami this was a fantastic read. Each book in the Untamed Hearts series makes me more anxious for the next one. I actually can’t decide which story I’m more excited for – Tino or Nova. I do know if they’re anything like the last two novels in the Untamed Hearts series, they’re going to be excellent.

The happily ever after died.

But the love story didn’t.

Excerpt

“Better. I step hard. You step—”

“Soft,” she finished for him.

“That’s right. Follow my hand. Hard, soft, together we fit.” He loosened his hold on her waist, and she stepped back to the beat and then allowed him to pull her into his arms again. They did it a few times, the push and pull, stepping away from the heat and moving back together like they needed each other to keep breathing. Then he pulled her to the right and stepped to the left at the same time. When he used his hold on her waist to force her back, she stepped so that her feet were between his. He fit the two of them back together like a puzzle piece again, with his leg pressed so intimately between her thighs it was making her ache. She arched her hips on instinct, and he hummed in approval. “Bueno, asi mismo. Move them like God made you to move them. That’s good, mami.”

Before now, they’d been dancing salsa, not this hybrid, more sensual form of moving that felt like a guilty pleasure. The beat was the same, the steps were sometimes the same, but this was so much more intimate. A tease. A candy-coated sin that wasn’t a sin because it was labeled dancing instead.

Alaine loved it.

She let herself be completely soft in his arms, moving where he wanted her to move, because it felt so damn good to let go of everything else and just be with Chuito. All she had to do was feel the drums throbbing and listen to the erotic, lulling sound of a man singing in Spanish about dancing with his woman.

All night.

They danced until the sun came up.

About the Author

Kele Moon

A freckle faced, redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives off pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love. The only rules she believes in is that, in love there are no rules and true love knows no bounds.

So obsessed is she with the beauty of romance and the novelty of creating it she’s lost in her own wonder world most of the time. Thankfully she married her own dark, handsome, brooding hero who had infinite patience for her airy ways and attempts to keep her grounded. When she leaves her keys in the refrigerator or her cell phone in the oven he’s usually there to save her from herself. The two of them now reside in Florida with their three beautiful children who make their lives both fun and challenging in equal parts–They wouldn’t have it any other way.
