Blog Tour: Until You by Penelope Douglas

Title: Until You

Series: A Fall Away Novel, Book #1.5

Author: Penelope Douglas

Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Release Date:  December 5, 2013

Tour Organized by: As the Pages Turn

Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or so numb that you actually felt high? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between.

Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don’t care about anything or anyone.

Except Tatum.

I love her so much that I hate her. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn’t trust her or anyone else.

So I hurt her. I pushed her away.

But I still need her. The sight of her centers me, and I can pool all of my anger into her. Engaging her, challenging her, bullying her…they are my food, my air, and the last part of me that feels anything human.

But she left. She went to France for a year, and came back a different girl.

Now, when I push, she pushes back.

Meagan’s Review – 4.5 Stars

Is a review really necessary? I mean come on . . . Jared Trent. Is there anything else I need to say to get you to read this book? All right, for the sake of argument let me elaborate a little on why you should spend a little time with this mouthwatering bad boy.

Until You is Jared’s side of his and Tate’s story. It’s like if you took everything you loved about Bully and just added more awesomeness. How could you make Bully even more awesome you ask? Well first of all, how about the hottest kiss south of the border I’ve ever read. No . . . not into absolutely electric sex scenes in the rain? Okay, well then how about delving deeper into Jared’s horrific “vacation” with his father. No . . . you don’t want to hear about Jax and Jared’s tortured past? All right, how about reading Jared’s reaction to Tate’s monologue, Jax and Tate’s nude meet and greet, or Jared’s quality hot tub time with Nate? Yeah, that’s right, cause this book has all that and more.

Let me tell you, you can think you love Jared Trent all you want. But until you read his pain, heart break, and complete unwavering love of Tate from his point of view. Well . . . until then, you’re just in love with the pretty packaging. And while I admit it’s a damn fine package, once you have Jared unwrapped its even better. So like I said before . . . Jared Trent. Do I really have to say anymore?

Interview with Jared and Tate!!

Jared, Tate thank you so much for talking to me today. I know you’re both busy with your last year of school as well as, ahem, getting reacquainted with each other *wink*. Jared, I know you’re really not big on sharing, so thanks for agreeing to do this interview. And Tate, I’m guessing you had a lot to do with convincing Jared to talk with us today so an extra special thanks to you.

If he’s nice, I’m nice. He knows the drill.

All right, are you ready to answer a few questions?

Jared: Shoot.

Jared, after Tate went overseas you and her father formed a really close relationship. Are you still close?

Not sure you could call it close. With Tate’s dad, nothing can be done the easy way, so I’m on my toes a lot, but we definitely have a mutual respect. I like him. He likes me. And we both love Tate.

Tate, when you came home from France you were much more sure of yourself. Did the dates you went on in France help with your new confidence?

Not so much the dates. There weren’t that many, but the traveling, the people I met, everything helped broaden my horizons and make me more confident. I was allowed to be myself and people liked me for it over there. Without Jared and Madoc interfering, I finally had some freedom. When I came back, I knew that they had the problem, not me.

I know you two are going to get asked some kind of question about what your perfect date would be, so I’m going to turn it around. What would be the worst date you could imagine?

Jared: School dances, restaurants, carnivals, pretty much anywhere with too many people, and I can’t put my hands on her any time I want.

Tate: The other night. We were at the movies—watching the movie, of course—and had to go pick up a drunk Jax and Madoc at a party. Then we had to listen to them as they sat in the backseat rehashing the story of how Jax and I first met that apparently they told the whole entire party they were just at! Jared took care of Jax, and Madoc ran from me when I came after him. Jerks.

We know the meaning behind a couple of your tattoos, Jared. What about the rest? Have you gotten anymore?

I got Until You added to my torso tattoo, and I’m planning another one to cover about half of my back. Tate doesn’t even know what that one is going to be.

What about you Tate, have you considered getting any tattoos?

Haven’t thought much about it yet. I think it’s something I would like some day.

Tate, during Jared’s auditorium confession, he said he’d do anything for you and I believe you asked his thoughts on piercings. So, is he sporting any new hardware? *please say yes, please say yes*

You know Jared. He’d do anything for me J

Speaking of things you’d do for each other, Jared, did you ever get that lap dance to Remedy?

Tate: Don’t you dare say anything!

Jared: Oh, man….well, let’s just say that Tate keeps me very happy. I’m never bored and always craving more.

Jared, you let Tate race your car at the Loop, which was an amazing scene by the way, has she ever driven your bike?

Tate gets pretty much anything she wants. Yeah, she’s driven my bike.

You both shared so much in Bully and Until You. This may be a little greedy, but can you each tell us one thing we don’t know about you that would totally surprise us?

Tate: Okay, fine. I gave Jared the lap dance. Are you happy?

Jared: I know I am.

Okay, super duper random question time. And yes Jared, I totally saw that eye roll, so I’ll try to make this quick.

Funniest thing you’ve seen on the internet?

Both: We don’t like the internet.

What’s your weirdest quirk?

Jared: I can’t have celery in anything I eat. It’s stringy and weird, and I can’t stand that shit.

Tate: I get militant when people talk during movies. It’s rude.

What do you keep in your glove compartment?

Jared: Condoms. With Tate, I keep those everywhere.

Tate: Shut up. I’m not that bad. I keep a flashlight, tissues, and…condoms.

Jared: Told you.

Tate: Shut up.

Favorite cartoon growing up?

Jared: Naruto

Tate: Anything Disney

If you could create a holiday what would it be?

Jared: Car Day?

Tate: Yeah, car day.

Oddest talent?

Tate: I can give you the entire filmography of Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jared: I can beat up Leonardo DiCaprio.

Last picture you took with your phone?

Jared: *smiles* Can’t say. Her dad might read this.

Tate: Well, I’ll say. Jared laying on my bed, hands behind his head, looking up at me.

If you were a pirate what would your name be?

Tate: Captain Tate Two Kicks

Jared: That’s a stupid question.

Best feeling in the world?

Jared: Tate in the morning.

Tate: Waking up next to Jared. When we can get away with it.

See, quick and painless! I promise we’re almost done, only two more questions.

Do you guys have any special plans for the holidays?

Tate: Yes! Madoc invited Jax, Jared, me, and some girl of his to his family’s cabin for some skiing after Christmas for a few days.

Jared: We won’t be skiing.

Tate: No, we probably won’t be skiing.

And I know it’s a long shot but I gotta ask, can you give us any hints as to what we can look forward to in Madoc’s book, Rival? Maybe a little about Fallon?

Jared: Fallon doesn’t speak, act, or breathe without determining how many people she can piss off first. She’s tough, but she’s an outsider. A skater girl, and she doesn’t care about Madoc’s money or position. She knows all, and she’s coming home to have some fun. It will be an interesting summer.

Thank you guys so much for stopping by. I’ve loved reading your story. I can’t wait to see more of the two of you in Madoc and Jax’s books. Have fun keeping each other warm this winter! Happy Holidays!

About the Author

Penelope Douglas is a writer and teacher in Las Vegas. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, she is the oldest of five children. Penelope attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, because her father told her to “just get the damn degree!” She then earned a Masters of Science in Education at Loyola University in New Orleans, because she HATED public administration. One night, she got tipsy and told the bouncer at the bar where she worked (yes, she was drunk at work)that his son was hot, and three years later she was married. To the son, not the bouncer. They have spawn, but just one. A daughter named Aydan. Penelope loves sweets, the show Sons of Anarchy, and she shops at Target almost daily.

I have to admit that I laughed out loud a lot reading the interview with the characters. I cannot STAND the American voice actors for Naruto so I stopped following it when it started into Shippuden and the Japanese originals were harder to obtain since a lot of fan sites died due to the American launch. I did follow the manga up until they killed my favorite character though! I am bad about people talking during films, too. If it’s a movie I’ve seen before, sure, or if it’s on TV and it’s a commercial break, fine, but otherwise? Shut up. Just. Shut. Up. I can’t wait to read this book! I have read the first one already and loved it!
